Mane, the OS

Oh, hello there! If you visited this website a while ago or put it on the Wayback machine, you saw a beatiful and colorful homepage of the project, inviting other to join and learn about programming and other cool things from computer science. But, this project changed so, so, so much. Read this text below if you REALLY want to understand and is REALLY interested with the project. I'll try to make this page a bit smartphone-friendly and not to ruin this with my terrible English.

Before continuing, I'll explain what is this freaking project: Mane OS is a hobbie operating system that I (errorsyntax.neocities.org) am working on. I'll make my own programming language, compiler, kernel, bootloader, etc. Yes, it's a hobbie, and will probably be for the rest of the life of this project. Do you know TempleOS? Well, it was really fucking cool, but not useful, and that's is exactly my vision about Mane OS. Why the name "Mane OS"? Cause I'm a bro that enjoy My Little Pony as hell, I am a ponybro (or a brony), the name refers to the mane of the ponies, and the mascot is a pony too, her name is Many. Yeah, I'm lost all my creativity on this shit.

"Many", made with Inkscape by the creator of ManeOS. Btw merry christmas.

So, let's talk now about the changes and after this I'll talk about the project. First thing: want to learn programming with us? Forget about it, you won't learn with this project anymore. I know, I know: I've promised that. But guys, please, I'm just one person that likes to code things, it's impossible to me pay for teachers and prepare material for free alone. I was just thinking how my project can impact other people, but forgot how this could impact me and my mental health. I was exausted...

Other thing that I change was the values, I have a list with them. This values is important to understand what is really on my mind with this project:

Values

  1. Where I wanna go with this
  2. Until my last day on this planet.

  3. Why am I making this
  4. Cause I like to code and learn more about computer science, I think it's a good motivation.

  5. Will I accept help and colaboration
  6. With the main project, no. The whole original OS project will be writed only by me, I want to have all control. But, will be open-source and the license is MIT. So, I don't care much about what you want to do with the code.

  7. If I could define when this will be finally done
  8. When it can run some Windows and Linux apps well (or macOS or Android, who knows), have a cool graphical interface and instaler, have cool built-in apps, it's a minimal useful for work and study and navigate through the Internet.

I can't die before this project is at least useful on something.

  9. And about this weird website
  10. Probably the code of the OS will be here, and a cool forum, blog and other cool stuffs that websites has. I won't make heavy javascript and css effects, just the minimal and basic.

  11. KISS me
  12. Keep It Simple Stupid. I like this phrase.

Probably I have more to talk, but I don't remember at the moment, I'll put here soon.
